Hysteroscopy


During hysteroscopy procedure the doctor inserts a small-diameter device which has a light and a small camera on the end into your uterus to see the inside.

The Procedure

Step1- Spreading the cervix
First, the doctor spread the cervix with a tool called a speculum like in a gynaecological exam.

Step2- Inserting the device
The hysteroscopy device is inserted through your vaginal opening and will continue moving it through the cervix and then into the uterus.

Step3- Clearing the view
A liquid or carbon dioxide gas will be gently sent into your uterus through the device to clear the surface and to help widen it slightly have a better view.

Step4- Diagnose
The light and camera on the end of the hysteroscope allow the doctor to see the uterus and fallopian tubes and diagnose the presence of any issues or difficulties to perform any surgical procedures necessary.
