Intra Uterine Insemination procedure is more commonly referred to as IUI is one of the most common treatment procedures for infertility treatment in the recent times. In this process, the sperm is artificially placed inside the uterus of the female for the facilitation of fertilisation. The main goal of IUI is readily increase the number of sperms which reach the fallopian tubes of the female thereby enhancing the chances of fertilisation to a significant extent. This treatment procedure provides the sperms with a great advantage because it gives them a head start of reaching the egg and fertilising it. How IUI Works?

Intra Uterine Insemination or IUI is not at all a very complicated process and it does not take a lot of time as well. Before the process, our expert doctors recommend some of the ovulation stimulating medications. After the medications, careful monitoring is done which is extremely necessary for determining as to when the eggs are mature. After the monitoring is done properly, the IUI procedure is performed. Intra Uterine Insemination is performed at the time of ovulation that is about 24 to 36 hours after the rise in the LH hormone which in an indicator that ovulation will occur soon.
A sample of semen is taken and washed in the laboratory for the separation of semen from the seminal fluid. Then the sperm is artificially injected or inserted into the uterus of the female with the help of a catheter. This process of treatment maximises the number of sperms placed in the uterus thereby readily enhancing the chances of conception. The overall procedure of Intra Uterine Insemination is completed within a matter of just few minutes involving a minimal amount of discomfort. In the next step, the signs and symptoms of pregnancy are looked out for the analysis of success of the procedure.
